The Board of Studies (BoS) is the primary academic body of each department, responsible for the design, review, and periodic updating of the curriculum to ensure academic excellence, relevance, and alignment with emerging trends.
Each Board of Studies is chaired by the Head of the Department and comprises all faculty members of the department, two subject experts from outside the Parent University nominated by the Academic Council, one expert nominated by the Vice-Chancellor from a panel recommended by the principal, one representative from industry or allied sectors, and one alumni member of the college, both nominated by the Principal.
The Board of Studies plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing standards in teaching, learning, and research within the department. It recommends to the Academic Council the courses of study to be offered, improvements in curriculum design, teaching methodologies, research quality, and other academic initiatives. By incorporating inputs from academia, industry, and alumni, the Board ensures that the curriculum remains dynamic, industry-relevant, and aligned with institutional objectives.
