The Computer Science and Engineering department was established in the year 2002. The department offers both Undergraduate in Computer Science & Engineering and Post Graduate programs in Computer Science with specialization in Computer Science and Engineering; recognized by APJ Abdul Kalam University. The B.Tech and M.Tech Degree in Computer Science and Engineering enables a prospective student to learn about the principles of a Computer system, its architecture, programming, and applications that drive them. The program has a hands-on focus that will horn the students skills as a software developer to complement the technical knowledge they will gain in fundamental areas of Computer Science. Our Department has a high faculty to student ratio, ensuring that the students will always have a ready access to our faculty. A team of well qualified faculty that keeps their knowledge up-to-date by attending conferences and workshops on a regular basis is a major asset of the department.

The Department has competent and committed faculty members experienced in both teaching and industry and many are pursuing their doctoral programes. They are specialized in areas of data and computer security, computer networks, mobile computing, image processing, data mining, artificial intelligence etc. They encourage students’ involvement in various co-curricular activities along with their academics. All faculty actively strive to improve their quality by participating in research oriented programes and quality improvement trainings. An Academic Advisory Committee comprising of external academic and industry experts act as a guiding body for improving the teaching learning process. With rapidly evolving technology and the continuous need for innovation, the Department has always produced quality professionals, holding important positions in different companies in India and abroad. The Department moulds young outstanding engineers who are academically strong in both theory and practical. The department is constantly producing good results in the University examinations.

” It gives me immense pleasure to head the department of Computer Science and Engineering under the prestigious institution, KMEA Engineering College. Department is distinguished with dedicated faculties in the core areas of Computer Science. Our department believes in high quality education by inculcating many value added courses to enhance their career prospects. The students of the computer science and engineering are highly demanded by the recruiters of the top companies. During the course, students will be acquiring knowledge in computer fundamentals, its architecture, algorithms, programming languages, skills of effective program writing, computer networking, database management, software engineering and testing, artificial intelligence and more. Our department always promote the practical experience, employability skills and leadership qualities among students through in-house workshops, international certification courses, internship programs and industry institute collaboration. The very motto of our department is to find students worthy of organisation and society. The distinguished teaching faculty and excellent infrastructure along with student friendly environment with a Training and Placement Cell ensures a bright future to students. Computer science Engineering graduates will be able to:

  • PO 1 Engineering Knowledge : Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • PO 2 Problem Analysis : Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • PO 3 Design / Development of Solution : Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • PO 4 Conduct investigation of complex problems : Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • PO 5 Modern Tool Usage : Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  • PO 6 The Engineering and Society : Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  • PO 7 Environmental and Sustainability : Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
  • PO 8 Ethics : Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
  • PO 9 Individual and Team Work : Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
  • PO 10 Communication : Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
